THE ACTOR’S TOOLKIT

The Actor’s Toolkit combines Stage and Screen Acting, Film, Scriptwriting & Screenwriting. Students are able to choose to specialise in one, two or three of the subjects, the choice is theirs.

This class combines curriculum led and industry led training to bring a well rounded and diverse experience, allowing students to develop their craft engaging with original and published works. At the heart of RE:ACT Performing & Production Arts' ethos, application of knowledge is paramount. Real life experiences opportunities such as festivals, casting at leading drama schools and publishing scripts or films are central to the learning process - the possibilities are endless.

  • Our stage and screen acting avenue is fantastic for pupils with an interest in drama, an intended career in drama or pupils wanting to gain confidence purely through drama; this avenue is great preparation for secondary school drama classes, GCSE Drama and A Level Drama, drama school and university. We explore a range of practitioners and styles using a practical approach, from exploring Shakespeare to contemporary theatre such as Willy Russell, Bertolt Brecht, Dennis Kelly and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. This avenue also covers stage combat.

  • Our film avenue is fantastic for a beginner, a phone film maker with a flair right up to an accomplished YouTuber. Guiding you through pre-production, production and post production, our teachers provide an engaging and inspiring avenue bringing the student’s creative ideas alive on screen. From location scouting and casting, right up to colour grading - this avenue covers it all.

  • Our scriptwriting and screenwriting avenue is designed to equip students with the writing skills, industry knowhow and experience of collaborative working which the ever-changing industry demands. You will learn the mechanisms of working across a variety of script forms: TV, film, theatre, games and radio, discovering ways to develop great ideas and perfect your storytelling skills.
